Catholic Schools Week Recap
o
Sister Jacqueline greatly
acknowledges all the parents who brought their children to the Catholic Schools
Week Mass on January 30. Thank you to all who donated delicious sweet treats
for everyone to enjoy after the Mass.
o
A big thank you to Jon and
Kelly Frederick for coordinating the bowling event for Grades 3 to 8 on Thursday
of Catholic Schools Week.
o
We truly appreciate the
assistance of Lorry Delmolino, Wes, Anthony, and Brittany Scalise, Mike Koczela,
Jen Dean, Len Giroux, and Jen Towler who gave their time for Fun Games with
Kindergarten to Grade 2 students on Friday.
o
Thank you also to the Moms and
Dads who supervised the students during the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon on
Wednesday. What a wonderful spirit of helpfulness!

Upcoming Activities
Ø
Butter Braids Fundraiser
forms have been sent home. This is our
final major fundraiser for the year so please help us make it a successful one!
Please remember that orders will be in before Easter.
Ø
Children of Mary Bake Sale
will be Friday, February 12.
Ø
February School Vacation
will be February 15-19.
Ø
Open House
is February 28 at 11:00am. Please be sure to share this with friends and
family with school-age children who may be interested in attending.
Ø
Family Bingo
will be Friday, March 5.
Ø
Teacher Professional
Development day is March 8,
there is no school this day.
Ø
8th Grade Play
will be held March 19 & 20, please note the date change.

The next Restaurant Fundraiser
will be announced soon.
Ø
Big Y Education Express:
This is an easy and free way to help St. Stans earn school supplies. Please
make sure your school of choice is St. Stan School # 5933. Your family
and friends can also choose to select St. Stans if they would like to help
support the school.

Box Tops for Education
website is offering various drawings that can provide boxtops to our school.
Please visit boxtops4education.com and enter to win box tops for our
school.

Relay for Life:
St. Stan’s is forming a team for the Relay for Life. All parents and children
interested in joining the team are welcome. A memo will be sent home in late
February with more details.
·
The Spring Dance is in need
of a DJ. If you know someone who may be willing to volunteer 2 hours to DJ this
event please contact Suzanne Koperek at 652-5627.
·
Pope John Paul the Great is
sponsoring Pizza and Prayer for the children on Tuesday, March 9
from 5:30-6:30. It will be held at Pope John Paul school cafeteria.

Thank you to Chris Wheeler for the
information session regarding your 8th Grade experience. This
is a special year for the children so it is helpful to start planning as early
as possible. Highlights of the session are:

8th Grade expenses to anticipate
include: Cap and Gown, Banquet, Yearbook, Gift to School, and Class Trip.
Ø
Fundraising ideas to help with
expenses: 8th Grade Play, Bazaar, Pasta dinner, Pancake breakfast, Bottle drives
Ø
To help with expenses parents find
it helpful to start saving money each month as early as possible. Some families
take advantage of the Banking at School program to save for these events.
