The Annual Catholic Appeal is an invitation for every Catholic to respond gratefully to God for the blessings in their life. Your tax-deductible donation sustains ministries and services that impact thousands in need across western Massachusetts. Through your contribution, the Diocese is able to feed the hungry, educate and form our youth, clothe the naked, encourage vocations, shelter the homeless, protect the unborn, and assists clergy, religious and lay leaders in building and strengthening the Catholic Church in western Massachusetts. You may make a one-time gift, a recurring sustaining gift, or a pledge to the Annual Catholic Appeal. Your donation or pledge can be made by check or credit card.

Through Your Parish
Parishes throughout the diocese will hold in-pew collections for the appeal at the end of Lent. You can give your gift to your pastor, drop it off at the parish office, or put it in the collection basket at any time. Please clearly label that the gift is meant to go to the Annual Catholic Appeal. Parishes will forward all gifts to the main office.
Gifts of Stock
You can make a gift to the Annual Catholic Appeal by transferring stock or shares of a mutual fund. When you wish to make a gift of stock, provide the following information to the transferring broker.

Many companies match or even double gifts made by current/former employees. Matching gifts are the perfect way to maximize the impact of your donation. Please ask your company’s human resource department to find out if they would match your gift to the Annual Catholic Appeal. Your HR department will provide you with necessary matching gift forms to complete. Please send these completed forms to the Annual Catholic Appeal.

IRA Charitable Contribution (Qualified Charitable Distribution)
Donors over the age of 70.5 can contribute up to $100,000 from their IRA directly to the Annual Catholic Appeal and avoid paying income taxes on the distribution. Your gift must be made directly from your IRA to the Roman Catholic Bishop of Springfield, Inc. (Tax ID# 04-2106751) and include the Annual Catholic Appeal as the purpose of your gift.

Create a Legacy
Making a planned gift to the Annual Catholic Appeal has never been easier! Create a Legacy that will grow the Catholic Church in western Massachusetts. Below are a few options:
Bequests – Designate a gift of cash, securities, real estate, or personal property through your will or trust to Roman Catholic Bishop of Springfield, Inc. for the benefit of the Annual Catholic Appeal.
Retirement Plan -Name the Roman Catholic Bishop of Springfield, for the benefit of the Annual Catholic Appeal as a beneficiary of an IRA or 401(k) plan.
Life Insurance – Name the Roman Catholic Bishop of Springfield for the benefit of the Annual Catholic Appeal as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy.\
