The Office for Divine Worship exists to assist the pastors of the Diocese of Springfield in their promotion of a celebration of the Liturgy in which “the faithful take part fully aware of what they are doing, actively engaged in the rite, and enriched by its effects.” ( Sacrosanctum concilium, no. 11)

This goal is achieved through our availability for consultation, publication of resources and regularly scheduled workshops in ministry training and other liturgical topics.
 
In addition, the office provides advice and support to pastors and the Diocesan Building Commission on the renovation and construction of Churches and prepares and guides the liturgical celebrations of the Bishop in collaboration with: Cathedral Rector/Pastor/Administrator.
